Kurkonzerte in Bad Hall

EN Überschrift

In 1855 a spa brass band was founded in Bad Hall. Since then – with the exception of a brief interruption during WWI – regular spa concerts have been organized.

The instrumentation of the orchestra has changed.
The most famous conductors were the court’s opera director Gustav Mahler, who started his career in Bad Hall (1880) and Alois Dostal. The most famous musician of the orchestra was Prof. Willi Boskovsky, who later became leader of the Viennese Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted many New Year’s concerts. At the moment the Bad Hall Spa Orchestra is conducted by Ulrich Steskal, who also is the president of the association of Austria’s spa orchestras.

Concerts take place several times a week; the lion’s share of the program from May to September is filled with the Bad Hall spa orchestra. But there are also concerts by other brass bands, big bands, vocal ensembles, jazz concerts and a lot more.

Please see the calendar of events for details.
