Towering high above scenic Steyr Valley, the village of Waldneukirchen is a true haven for those seeking rest and relaxation and for those who want to bask in nature. The scenic surroundings are crisscrossed by a stunning network of trails for cycling and hiking and are dotted by a rich variety of lovely chapels and wayside shrines.

There are ancient remains of defensive earthworks dubbed „Devil’s Tower“ by the locals, but very little is known about them. There are no remnants of a bailey nor walls, but, instead, a remarkably deep fountain and a moat. They both show a striking size considering their age.
Ramblers can explore nature’s world of wonder and discovery in the lovely forest trail that winds through Hallerwald and on the interesting „Nature & Hunting“ Theme Trail. At 560 meters above sea level, Hohe Linde has always been a popular outing destination.
